3.3.1.6 Project Plan Hours VS Actural Hours report

1. Introduction

Count and compare planned hours and actual hours of the project to calculate the project progress.

Sort by Project

All users can use this report, and only the following users can edit the plan and actual data of the corresponding project:

 

Sort by Filter

All users can use this report for the filters they can view, and only the following users can edit the corresponding filter's plan start/end date, planned hours, and actual start/end dates:

  • Users with edit permission on the filter

  • Jira-administrators user group

3. Function

3.1 Description

3.1.1 Project query

As indicated at mark 1, support sorting by 'Project' or 'Filter', and select projects or filters through the selection box.

3.1.2 Project actual 

As indicated at mark 2, "project actual"  shows the actual hours that has been taken.

  • Start date: if start date is not configured manually , the create date of the first issue in a project will be set as the start date.

  • End date: if end date is not configured manually, all the actual hours after "Start date" will be cumulatively counted.

  • Hours: all logged hours in a project will be automatically caculated based on its started date and end date. 

3.1.3 Project plan

As indicated at mark 3, "project plan" shows the estimation of project manager on project's start date, end date and hours. 

  • Start date: an estimated day when a project starts

  • End date: an estimated day when a project is done

  • Hours:  total hours a project will take.

3.1.4 Project Progress

As indicated at mark 4,  the number helps project managers understand project's progress and respond accordingly. This number is the ratio of "project actual hours" to "project plan hours".

  • Green: ratio <= 80%

  • Yellow:  80% < ratio <= 100%

  • Red: ratio > 100%

3.1.5 Actions

As demonstrated at mark 5, two actions are availabe: "edit" and "view history"

  • edit:  start date, end date and hours are editable. Please note:

    • When sorting by Project, this button is displayed only if the current logged on user is one of the following two types of users:

    • When sorting by Filter, this button is displayed only if the current logged on user is one of the following two types of users:

      • Users with edit permission on the filter

      • Jira-administrators user group

  • view history: click and a modification history sreen as below will show up

  • View history:Click to view the modified history, as shown in the figure below
