WorkflowWise Approval Q&A

WorkflowWise Approval Q&A

1. After disabling page actions, I can still drag an issue in Kanban or panel to do transitions.

Problem Description: After adding the approval rule and selecting "Disable page action", the actions can only be clicked through the issue’s approval panel (click the approve/reject button), but the status of the issue can still be transitioned by dragging in the Kanban board or the Sprint of the panel.

Solution: We added a "Hide the approval action" condition to the workflow. After adding this condition, if the current action is one of the selected actions in the approval rule, it can only be transitioned through the issue’s approval panel (click the approve/reject button). 2. After an issue enters the approval status, the approvers cannot do approve in the issue's approval panel.

Reason analysis: If you configure an approver field (user type custom field) in the approval rules, you may encounter this issue. When an issue enters the approval status, WorkflowWise app reads the value of the approver field and fixes the approver list (which will not change with the value of that field thereafter). Your approver field had no value at that time.

Solution: Please ensure that the approver field has a value before the issue enters the approval status.

This has raised a new problem: What if the first status of my issue after creation is approval status (the approver field can only have a value after entering the approval status)?

Solution: You can edit the workflow, add a transition arrow "Start Approval" that from the approval status, points to the approval status (itself). After the issue’s approver field has a value, perform the transition action again.
