4.1 Tutorial: Generating Reports with "User Created Templates"

4.1 Tutorial: Generating Reports with "User Created Templates"

Step 1 Creat a new template

Go to “Space tools” > “Content Tools“ > “Templates”, click “Create New Template”, Enter the template editing interface.

Creating a new template is similar to editing a Confluence page, and you can use the various editor tools provided by the system.

You can also copy and paste content from other blueprints, templates, or pages here. For example, we copy the content of the "Meeting notes" blueprint, keep what we need, fill in the template title and then save it.

Step 2 Set up an automatic and periodic report

Please refer to 3 Generate a report automatically and periodically for setting. Switch the template type from the Blueprint Template to User Template, and select the template you just created. In this way, using the “User Created Templates” to generate the report is preliminarily done.

Step 3 Enrich report content with variables and macros

This is not required, if you want to make the report richer and smarter, you can try adding the following to the report:

4.2 Template Variable

4.3 Confluence Macro with Variable Parameter

4.4 Timesheet Report Macro

Step 4 Verify report generation

Go to “Space tools” > “Content Tools” > “Report Generation”, click "Generate Now", after the generation is complete, go to the corresponding location of the space to view your report.
